Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club

Nets

A radio net, or simply net, is an “on-the-air” gathering of amateur radio operators. Most nets convene on a regular schedule and specific frequency, and are organized for a particular purpose, such as relaying messages, discussing a common topic of interest, in severe weather, emergencies, or simply as a regular gathering of friends for conversation.

  • GMRS 462.6000 +5 PL 141.3
  • FRS 3: 462.6125 MHz
  • MURS 3: 151.9400 MHz

This is a directed net operating in a relaxed atmosphere. All local licensed GMRS operators are encouraged to participate. If you are not yet on the list, just check in as a guest when prompted by net control. We also conduct a Channel 3 Project simplex check in at the conclusion of our club GMRS net.

No license is required to talk on FRS or MURS, so please feel free to check in. To be added to the roster, wait until the end and check-in as a guest.
