With .550 being down and unavailable to the Net several IVARC members in the IV made contact on the Net last night. Being in this forest hole I couldn't make it (40+watts and three different antennas) grrrr... After the net I moved from the Ham Shack to the office where I have a BTech mobile on a antenna 80' up a tree (been there for ten years) and I made contact with 330 Ron, Net Control, and he gave me a report of full quieting/strong signal. So, I guess it's a matter of having the highest perch to get through the fir/pine moderation. Good to know in case the time should come..... Also, I got a good report for the Ham check-in on 146.420 Mhz (same antenna)...
