Ok I will trow this out there and see. What do you use to power your radio when the lights go out? what if we were to lose power for a week or two, how would you power your radio?

Small modular solar and motor generators like hand crank generators, portable hydro, anything that can rotate etc,
most ham radios do not use that much energy so the power supplies can be small and portable.

My landline phone, radio, TV, internet is backed up with a 150-amp battery and 260 watts solar. The power goes out only do the lights go out. 8 hours reserve power at full use on the tv internet. 5 days reserve on the radio system. Then I will start the generator if I need more power.
