So I’m listening to everything local and right about the same time the new Lil’ Pantry in CJ opened I start hearing things like “Pre-paid Propane” or “$20 Pump 5” on GMRS channel 22 (462.725). Just FYI in case you are driving by Lil’ Pantry while monitoring NV 725, if you hear something it may not be coming from the repeater and you might be talking to the gas station attendant.

NV725 repeater transmits a tone of 141.3 Kz. If you program it into your radio you will not receive the Pantry transmissions. Baofeng radios are programmed with no receive tone on NV725.
IVARC repeater does not transmit a tone.

I've had to program "receive" PL tones for most repeaters. When I drive into downtown GP, the GMRS channels are used by many (various businesses, Boys and Girls club, etc). No harm, no foul (and nothing prohibiting folks from using GMRS/FRS). I can only imagine how annoying it would be in a BIG city. I count us as lucky to be semi-rural.😊
